A Team Named Froddo Took Part in the Vltava Run

This  May, a team running under the name Froddo took part in the Vltava Run. It is a relay race from the Šumava mountains to Prague — 375 kilometres through some of the most beautiful parts of the Czech Republic.

What Is Vltava Run?

Vltava Run is unlike any other race in the Czech Republic. It was inspired by Hood to Coast — a legendary 199-mile relay in Oregon, USA, with over a thousand teams. Vltava Run brings that same spirit to the Czech landscape.

The race starts at the ski stadium at Zadov–Churáňov in Šumava. It finishes at Hamr Braník in Prague. In between, runners cross the Šumava National Park, follow rivers and ponds, pass through wooded hills, and run along Vltava reservoirs. They finish through historic towns and villages of southern and central Bohemia.

It is not just a race. It is a two-day journey through the Czech countryside.

Teams have up to 12 members. Each runner takes on one or more legs before passing on to the next. The course spans 3 regions and 7 districts.

Froddo on the Course

The 2026 edition took place on 9–10 May. The Froddo team was there. Every team member gave their all on their section before sending the next runner on their way.

It was a mix of physical challenge, teamwork, and a real appreciation for the landscape around us.

Congratulations to everyone who took part!
