In collaboration with the City of Ivanec, we agreed last year to begin building the first barefoot park in Croatia. This park is our gift to children and the entire local community in celebration of 25 years of the Froddo brand. Located on Eugena Kumičića Street in Ivanec, the park was designed as a space where children can develop their sensory and motor skills through barefoot play.
“This barefoot park is a natural extension of our philosophy that emphasizes the importance of healthy foot development in children. As a children’s footwear manufacturer, we have always highlighted the need for proper growth and development from an early age. With this space, we’re giving children the opportunity to explore various textures and surfaces with their bare feet, stimulating both motor and cognitive development,” said Siniša Zver, CEO of Ivančica d.d
We equipped the park with carefully designed didactic play elements that support the development of balance, coordination, auditory perception, and motor skills. There are also walking paths with different surface textures, all aimed at encouraging rich sensory experiences through barefoot walking.
In addition to the play area, the park features a covered seating space with benches and tables for rest and socializing, informative panels about the benefits of barefoot movement, and a practical zone for washing and drying feet.
We reaffirmed our dedication to sustainable development and socially responsible practices by building the barefoot park. As part of a broader strategy, we continue to invest in environmentally friendly processes, renewable energy sources, and projects that enhance the quality of life in our local community.
In our production, we use only electricity from renewable sources, and we source leather exclusively from suppliers certified according to LWG (Leather Working Group) standards, ensuring a responsible and transparent supply chain.
We are also actively working to reduce our carbon footprint. In collaboration with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), we have set concrete, science-based targets for lowering greenhouse gas emissions. The first emissions analysis has already been completed and will serve as the foundation for our Sustainability Strategy through 2030, aligned with European climate goals.
