Earth Day and Froddo: Protecting the Environment and Sustainability

Earth Day is officially celebrated on April 22nd in over 190 countries since 1992. However, that day goes back to years before, when John McConnell first proposed to celebrate Earth Day in 1969. The first Earth Day took place on 21 March 1970 in San Francisco during the vernal equinox. Later, April 22nd was chosen as the date to mark Earth Day because it was easier to mark it since the date of the vernal equinox is variable.

Each year this day has its slogan and purpose, and this year's motto for all activities is "Invest in our planet". The purpose of this important day and movement is to educate the public on environmental issues, and ecological challenges, with an emphasis on sustainable living and the climate crisis. Preservation of resources, better management, reduction of waste and risks for the environment, and increase in quality of life are the goals of development, progress, and, most importantly, preservation of our home - the Earth.
